PuTTY is pretty good, but if you ever use ZEMU on a PDP-11, there is one 
PuTTY incompatibility that will bite you. PuTTYs handling of cursor 
movement around the wrap position is different than a VT100.

As for double width and double height, xterm does it just fine. In fact, 
xterm is the only implementation that I don't know of any 
incompatibilities in.
