I've sent material to Al Kossow for scanning to bitsavers.  He's been
very good about scanning and returning intact.  Obviously, check with
him first.

Though one of these days I should downsize and simply keep the PDFs on
CD/DVD here :-)

It's really handy to have the books on a notebook - much easier than
carrying ones library on a plane or camping trip.... So when you
contribute, you win by getting the electronic copy.  In the US, you can
send by Media Mail (book rate) which is fairly cheap.  Unless you're
really nervous & want registered mail or tracking...
