Johnny,

If it's not too much trouble, would you mind going into a little more
detail for the "noobs" following along out here?

I'm not _100%_ ignorant .. I was a UNIX admin for 15 years, I have a
real VAX (3900) in the garage and fooled around with VMS on it. I've
had VMS running in cluster mode across SIMH instances.

I've used DOS at great lengths and can write software in many
languages including C, Pascal, and just about any assembler. In fact,
on machine language - once you "get it", I think you can write code
for any CPU out there; all you need is the instruction set. I've done
it on quite a few different CPUs, including setting the bits via front
panel switches and hitting "STORE" (or its equivalent) for the various
instructions (eg HP1000). I've used assembly to write device drivers.

I've even designed my own ISA and tried (not given up yet) to
implement it in TTL (74F series).

My point here is you don't have to start from scratch describing what
a computer is. I know this is for a PDP-10. But the closest I ever
came to a PDP-10 was at the other end of a 300 baud acoustically
coupled modem. Gee .. those were the days ..

Anyway, while probably 90% of the folks on here know what you are on
about (or maybe 100% minus me) .. I have no idea. Looks interesting
though.

Could you please explain what this is all about??
