[Simh] Not Responding to Console on Raspberry Pi

I've seen this same problem when running the 780 simulator on other
platforms. If you wait about a minutes after the boot has finished the
console usually starts responding again and is fine thereafter. Does the
console recover on the Raspberry Pi? I've not looked into what causes
this so far.
