Has anyone run VMS V2 on the VAX780 simulator already?

I have recently acquired VMS V2, neither as an installation tape(-image) nor as a bootable disk(-image), but all files (seemingly) on a newer ODS-2 disk image.
The files look like the results from a built from the V2 source kit (lots of .LIS and .MAP files).

I have tried to built a bootable disk(-image) on an RP06 and on an RK07.
After some difficulties (e.g. non-contiguous files) I get as far as into VMS V2 SYSBOOT now:

sim> ATT HK0 VMS020.RK7
sim> b hk0 /r5:1
Loading boot code from vmb.exe

SYSBOOT> USE MINIMUM.PAR

SYSBOOT> CONT

  VAX/VMS Version X0QH 5-APR-1980 21:11

Simulation stopped, PC: 80007104 (BRB 80007104)
sim>

After displaying the VMS banner the simulator hangs in an endless loop: PC: 80007104 (BRB 80007104)

Up to now I cannot distinguish between at least two probable causes of this:

1) Is there still something missing or wrong with my self-built V2 bootable disk?
2) Is there a bug in the VAX780 simulator still unknown?

What would be the best method to get more information?
Booting the XDelta-Debugger (so far I only know its name)?
Any hints / anyone who can help?

Regards,

Ulli

P.S.
Can anyone remember whether it is possible to upgrade VMS V1.5 to V2.0?
The manuals only mention VMS V1.6 to V2.0.
