Indeed! I learned to program Basic-Plus and FORTRAN on a PDP-11/70
running RSTS/E V06C-03 back in High School in the 1977-1980 era. The
system was owned by the county's BOCES and shared by the High School's
throughout the county through 300 baud dialup and later dedicated 300
baud lines. It used to run around 40+ jobs and the SYSTAT was quite
impressive. I heard they upgraded to V7.0 in the summer of 1980.
After leaving High School I did not get to touch RSTS/E again until my
first job in 1985 with a little programming outfit running V9.0 on a
PDP-11/73 (they also had an 11/34a running V8.0 but I did not deal with
that system). After that I was purely a VMS guru until I got bitten by
Windows and Unix.
