I've installed 4.x onto the vax 3900 emulation and it seems to work ok.
The only trick is that the installer is looking for /dev/rrz* files and
only /dev/rra* devices actually exist.  I seem to recall stopping the
installation, modifying the install script (or renaming the device
nodes) and starting the install over.
