If my memory serves.... simh uses libpcap for its networking support, and
last I looked libpcap had DLPI support so, it should interface w/ (most)
ethernet type interfaces under Solaris.   (You might have issues /w FDDI,
and a few other less common media types.)

PS:  And I agree /w Zane, 64Mb is mighty light for Solaris in any form..
