you attach the ISO image to the virtual CDROM.

you can then boot from the ISO image and create the bootable system disk.

There-after you boot from the system disk.  The iso image is only needed for the  initial creation of the system disk and for loading additional software.

After that you can change the ini file to attach another iso image - or just not attach anything at all.

I understand that in linux it's also possible to actually attach a real CDROM reader - but I havn't done that.

you don't need to have all 4 RQs defined.  In many cases you could get by with one for a large system & data disk and a second for the CDROM.
