<body><BR>OK, so I have tried copying the VMS CD using 'DD' from <A href="http://www.chrysocome.net/dd">http://www.chrysocome.net/dd</A> and the command:<BR> <BR>dd if=\\?\Device\CdRom0 of=openvms71.img bs=2k<BR>

(Not sure if the blocksize of 2k is correct, but it seems plausible)<BR> <BR>However, I still get the DEVASSIGN error when I boot the cd image.<BR>

<P dir=ltr>My CD is marked "OpenVMS VAX Operating System v7.1 Binaries" - It's been such a long time since I did a VMS install that I can't remember how to kick off the install - do you just boot the image, or use /R5:1 or what?. Should I expect the vms binaries CD to boot in SIMH?</P>
