What you're seeing here, suggests to me, that the problem which 8is occurring is somewhere in the OS software/driver and its handling of the conditions which have happened.

I don't have the expertise to track down this type of a problem.

Timothe Litt and Reindert Voorhorst might be candidates to attempt to track this down.
