Well, your SIMH VAX will have the signature of a MicroVAX 3900 (the SIMH 
VAX 11/780 will most likely not run VMS 8.3) , so don't expect to use 
features that are not on a 'real' 3900.

Furthermore, assuming your project is in the personal research domain, 
get your OpenVMS Hobbyist license in place. Commercial VMS licenses may 
not be used on SIMH VAXen.

Lastly, have fun! And read the SIMH manuals, they contain useful 
first-time user information. After that, come back and ask here. Folks 
are helpful.
