[Simh] RSTS Impressions

Hi,
        I just downloaded and booted the prebuilt RSTS system from Bill's 
website.  It seemed to boot alright, but there were some things which came 
up which weren't mentioned in the howto.
    When I ran the pdp11 simulator, this being on Windows XP, I got an 
'unknown command' error at some point from Simh.  I'm not exactly sure where 
from, but looking at the rsts.ini file, it seemed to happen with the set cpu 
11/83 command, but I'm not positive about this.
    When I booted the system itself, things seemed to run fairly well.  I 
can't find the file needed to shut it down though, and the system did 
complain about one device being disabled and asked me if I wanted to proceed 
with the boot.  I didn't see this in the howto.
    Finally, on a semirelated note, I wonder what the best solution for the 
scanned manuals is?  I have no easy way of reading them with my screen 
reader: they're images of text, not the text itself, which is mildly 
frustrating.
Any advice here would be appreciated.  I'm interested in exploring these old 
systems.
