To talk about other VAX benchmark suites:

Back in the 80's/90's, the standard VUP measure (at least outside of DEC)
was the Digital Review benchmark suite. Most of the source code was
FORTRAN. I think this eventually came to be known as the "CPU2" suite
when used outside on non-VMS, non-VAX systems.

I don't know if the DR VUP / CPU2 suite found its way into DEC or
if they had their own.
