[Simh] Problem with "attach xq"

Hi!

Just downloaded the current 3.7 ZIP and build it. This needed two
little changes: Adding -lrt to the libs and changing libpcap.a to
-lpcap for dynamic linking.

The resulting `vax' binary seems to work nicely and I'm just about to
try a NetBSD installation (goal: Help GCC development and testing.)

However (wildly testing combinations):

sim> at xq eth2
File open error
sim> at xq eth2
File open error
sim> at xq eth1

Eth: opened eth2
sim> sim>
sim>
sim> at xq eth0
Eth: closed eth2
Eth: opened eth1
sim>
sim> at xq eth2
Eth: closed eth1
File open error
sim> at xq eth2
File open error
sim> at xq eth1
Eth: opened eth2
sim>
sim> at xq lo
Eth: closed eth2
File open error
sim> at xq lo
File open error
sim> at xq eth2
File open error
sim> at xq eth1
Eth: opened eth2
sim> boot cpu

So... This is on a Linux host. "eth2" is indeed a correct device:

lnx-rr49:~# ip link
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,10000> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:15:17:3a:19:e4 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: eth1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,10000> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:1b:78:be:d7:92 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
4: eth2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,10000> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:1b:78:be:d7:94 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
5: sit0: <NOARP> mtu 1480 qdisc noop
    link/sit 0.0.0.0 brd 0.0.0.0

Any hints? Or shall I start some debugging?

Thanks, JBG
