[Simh] NEWBIE: Linux simh Fedora Core 5/6 - simhv37-1

I am attempting to compile simh (simhv37-1) under Fedora Core 5 (and I've
tried 6). When I do, I receive the following error:

I assume I have an incorrect version of a library or "something". Is there a
list of the library versions/requirements for building this under UNIX or
are there too many variants? I'm following Phillip Wherry's instructions
from 2004 but they were obviously for a different flavour of Linux.

I've scanned the archives of this list and Google for hints. So far, nothing
jumps out. My VAX works great under Windows. I'm just trying to move it to
Linux.

If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
