[Simh] Workaround for idle

I'm absolutely thrilled by this feature.  It looks like I wasn't paying
attention and didn't notice when idle detection was first added to SIMH.
Today is the first time I've tried it out.  With the above workaround it
works great on my Linux box.  Great work!!!  CPU usage is one of the
main reasons I had given up on running VMS on SIMH.   

Now, if SIMH could just run Alpha VMS ...

P.S.  Yes, I saw the post recently on the list about an Alpha emulator
but it's Windoze only.
