I have done some testing of the vax780 simulator with the following versions of VMS:

V1.5
V3.0
V3.1
V3.2
V3.3
V3.4
V3.5
V3.6
V3.7
V4.0
V4.2
V4.3
V4.4
V4.5
V4.6
V4.7
some V5.x, V6.x and V7.x

There are still some bugs in it, but it is working impressively nevertheless!

The vax simulator should need V5.1 at least as this is the first version 
to support the emulated MicroVAX 3900.
