[Simh] What is the policy concerning modifications to the complete series of simulators?

Hello from Gregg C Levine
I primarily got interested in SIMH because it simulates several
systems that interested me. They are the collection of DEC systems,
the PDP-11 and VAX for two, and the Altair ones for the others.

Even though I've got a VAX Station 3100 Model 76 waiting for me to
start it for the first time, I'd like to figure out how to have either
the PDP-11 or VAX simulators respond to hardware events, either from
data delivered serially via the normal serial ports on the host
system, or in parallel from the regular parallel port. Or even to have
the system respond to events from a prototyping card plugged into the
slots on the host.

Basically I originally wanted to obtain a PDP-11 (insert your choice
of model here) for the problem of working out how to connect hardware
to its system bus and of course programming it.
